Left Hand's Milk Stout is a creamy textured, creamy flavored chocolaty Milk Stout. At 5.2% alcohol this is a beer you could drink a six pack of over the course of a cold winter's night without being sidelined the next morning. A very manageable ABV isn't this beer's selling point though, this is a great mellow stout with a fantastic flavor profile. The Milk Stout has a really mellow aroma, like chocolate milk with a hint of roasted barley. The appearance of this beer is fairly pedestrian as well, it's pitch black with a very thin tan colored head. It's easy to be underwhelmed when you have your first Left Hand Milk Stout.

This beer really shines when you take a sip. Left Hand really made an amazing beer, the flavors here are subtle but very balanced in a way that each layer is separate but delicious. This beer tastes like a glass of chocolate milk that has been poured through a cereal grain filter in a room where coffee was being brewed. The base is definitely more milk than Stout, which works much better than it may sound. That creamy flavor works so well with the roasted malt that you forget this is a stout at all. The reason is because the malts used have a chocolate flavor rather than a dark coffee flavor. Even still, there is a hint of coffee with each sip of this beer. As the beer warms up you'll notice it even more.

If you're a fan of Stouts, chocolate milk or cleverly disguised coffee flavors - you'll enjoy this beer.
